Впечатления от Desperados 3 на «ИгроМире 2019» — олдовый вестерн, в который приятно играть даже новичку
Компания THQ Nordic не приехала на «ИгроМир 2019» с пустыми руками. Мы уже рассказывали о своих впечатлениях от демоверсий Darksiders Genesis и Comanche. На очереди — продолжение тактически-ковбойского цикла Desperados. В этом материале наша редакция расскажет о том, чего стоит ждать от третьей части порядком забытого сериала.
Но перед тем, как мы перейдем непосредственно к описанию проекта, позвольте посвятить пару строк такой важной для нашей страны теме, как локализация. Desperados 3, несмотря на нишевость, переведут на русский язык. Причем речь не идет о привычном (и наиболее правильном) текстовом переводе — герои и злодеи заговорят голосами отечественных актеров. На этом со вступительной частью все. Перейдем к сути.
Начать играть в Desperados 3 можно, не зная о событиях прошлых частей
Desperados 3 — приквел. И решение Mimimi Productions откатить события в прошлое более чем оправдано. С момента выхода Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive прошло уже 18 (!) лет.
Фанаты серии наконец-то узнают, как Джон Купер сошелся с другими членами банды. А новым игрокам, в свою очередь, не придется смотреть сюжет на YouTube (что бесполезно, поскольку речь идет о тактической игре) или перепроходить старые части.
И без открытого мира есть что посмотреть
Сюжет игры будет работать по принципу дорожного приключения. Некие обстоятельства заставят персонажей двигаться из точки «А» в точку «Б». Попутно они будут влипать в неприятности, устраивать дуэли в полдень и попадать в классические для вестерна ситуации. Например, ограбление поезда.
Место действия не ограничатся одним штатом. Даже без открытого мира в Desperados есть, где развернуться. Герои не раз пересекут границы, побывав и в Мексике, и болотистых землях Луизианы. Никаких изменений в структуре уровней не произошло. Как и раньше, игрок проходит миссию за миссией. Каждая миссия — это просторная карта.
Как 18 лет назад
Mimimi Productions решила сохранить узнаваемые элементы управления и геймплейные особенности серии. Некоторые из них в 2019 году выглядят странно.
Например, чтобы совершить действия вам нужно сначала выбрать предмет, затем применить его на противнике. Если вы вдруг забыли достать нож, а сразу пошли к врагу, клавиша стелс-убийства не появится. Зато вас точно заметит противник и одним выстрелом отправит на загрузку. Desperados 3 не церемонится с игроком. Убей или будешь убитым.
У каждого героя в команде Джона Купера есть свой набор уникальных предметов. Структура уровней мотивирует не только часто использовать их, но и комбинировать с предметами других персонажей. Например, один герой может броском саквояжа отвлечь бандита от маршрута патрулировать. Как только жертва пойдет проверять находку, Купер может кинуть в зеваку нож, бесшумно избавившись от него. Чтобы игроку было проще комбинировать умения и параллельно отдавать команды, в игре имеется тактическая пауза.
Отдельно стоит отметить внимание разработчиков к деталям. Например, если перед врагом будут высокий куст травы, он не сможет увидеть движущихся героев за ним. Главное быть за объектом и не забыть пригнуться. Поле зрение врагов можно подсвечивать в одно нажатие мыши.
Прохождение игры займет примерно 25 часов вашего времени. Если вы захотите побольше провести времени на Диком Западе в компании Джона Купера, можно испытать удачу в хардкорном режиме. Он позволяет выбирать количество сохранений на миссию, включать ограничения на предметы экипировки и не только. Как сказал представитель Mimimi Productions: «это практически отдельная игра».
Такой разный вестерн
Работая над миром игры, команда Mimimi Productions искала баланс между абсолютно разными проявлениями Дикого Запада: старые голливудские фильмы об одиноких стрелках, помпезные спагетти-вестерны с безумными персонажами, исторические репродукции — все это в разных пропорциях будет в игре.
Имена героев будут отсылать игрока как к реально существовавшим охотникам за головами, так и к вымышленным персонажам. Например, из научно-фантастического сериала Westworld.
Игра на Unity и это даже не минус
Mimimi Productions, студия занятая Desperados 3, уже десять лет работают с Unity. Это было заметно по показанному билду. Презентация игры прошла очень гладко, хотя на момент встречи ноутбук успел отработать нон-стоп весь день.
Никаких просадок fps, долгих загрузок и других назойливых технических проблем выставочной сборки. Возможно, что нам просто повезло. Однако релиз игры без раненого доступа намекает, что студия вполне уверена в технической стороне проекта.
Несмотря на отсутствие раннего доступа, разработчики до релиза активно работают с обратной связью от игроков и прессы. Например, в релизной версии будут исправлены некоторые неочевидные ложные тропинки. Со стороны кажется, что персонаж может пройти между объектами, но на самом деле это не так.
Desperados 3 выйдет не только на PC, но и на PS4 и Xbox. К сожалению, версии для Switch не будет. По словам разработчиков, за изометрическим тактическим вестерном скрываются сложные фоновые математические расчеты. Движение врагов и все их паттерны прокручиваются в реальном времени. Это сильно грузит CPU, не оставляя шансов для корректной работы на гибридной консоле.

John Cooper is a gunslinger and bounty hunter, well-known from the previous Desperados games.
Cooper theoretically appears as early as the first mission of the game; however, this is a prologue in which you control young John who doesn’t have his weapons yet. Adult Cooper appears in mission 2. It should be noted that Cooper isn’t available in every single mission. You may be forced to control other characters.
Cooper’s passive skills
Can Cooper swim? – Yes, Cooper knows how to swim. You can jump into rivers and water reservoirs.
Can Cooper climb ladders? – Yes.
Can Cooper climb up ivies and ropes? – Yes, it opens up many new opportunities to complete the mission objectives.
Can Cooper move the bodies? – Yes, and it’s done at normal speed, because Isabelle can stand during this action.
How many health points does Cooper have? – The number of health points varies depending on the difficulty level. Cooper has 4HP on low difficulty, 3HP on normal and 2HP on high and Desperado difficulty level.
Cooper’s active skills
Knife
The main use of the knife is, of course, killing opponents in close combat. You should always sneak up on the enemy and be aware that the attack lasts 2 seconds and that it creates some noise – this is symbolized by the blue circle appearing around the enemy even when you are planning a kill.
In some places, the knife can also be useful for interacting with environment elements, for example, cutting a rope
If you don’t want to kill an enemy, press the right key to use fists instead of the knife (Y key on PC). Cooper will knock the enemy out instead of killing them. Don’t forget to hogtie a stunned opponent.
Throw Knife
This is an improved version of the skill described above. Cooper can throw a knife to kill enemies from a distance. This is a great help if, for example, you can’t easily sneak up on an opponent to stab them in the back. Unfortunately, you should be aware of three disadvantages of this ability:
- The enemy’s death creates twice as much noise as a normal knife attack.
- An enemy who got hit by the knife dies longer (more than 4 seconds) and easier to notice by, for example, patrolling enemies.
- The knife always needs to be retrieved – Cooper only has a single knife. Don’t throw it at enemies standing in hard-to-reach places.
Fake Coin
The fake coin is used primarily to distract opponents. When the coin lands somewhere on the ground, it makes a noise and the enemies who are standing nearby will get distracted by it. You can check this while planning this action – the game displays a blue circle and highlight opponents who will hear the coin.
Very important information is that the opponent won’t approach the coin with the intention of taking it away. It serves only to “convince” enemies to turn towards it, for example, in order to quickly go around them or to attack from the other side (you can use another hero to do this).
Coins can also be thrown at animals, such as horses or bulls. A successful throw can irritate the animal so much that it will kick the opponent standing next to it. This should kill that enemy on the spot.
Elite opponents are more “resistant” to the coin and will turn towards it only for a brief moment. Cooper has an unlimited supply of fake coins, but after you toss a coin, you need to wait 9 seconds for the skill to recharge.
The New Model Army and the Old 51 Revolvers
Both of Cooper’s revolvers work in the same way – you can use them to shoot enemies. It is worth noting that the “elite” Long Coat enemies are able to withstand getting shot by revolvers. As for the other enemies, they will die fast. A shot can only be fired if the line symbolizing the trajectory of the projectile is green.
Revolvers are activated by separate keys (F and G on PC). This is a very useful feature since reloading each of them takes a long time. If your action alerted the area (the shots, unfortunately, can be heard from afar), you can immediately use a second revolver to quickly shot the next enemy.
Revolvers have a limited ammunition. You can find more ammunition in the supply crates – their locations are marked on the maps in the world atlas.

Is it a man or is it a bear? Hector Mendoza’s sheer force makes him a fearsome opponent for all the gangsters in Desperados III. He wears a cruel axe to . well, better see it for yourself.
